Accessibility at SpokenText

SpokenText is designed around touch, sound, and the needs of people with print disabilities. Accessibility informs the product from the beginning.

VoiceOver support

SpokenText is designed and tested for VoiceOver on iPhone and iPad. Controls are labeled and important states are announced. The player provides named custom actions for play and pause, marking clips, moving through audio, and adding notes. In the reader, double tapping a text segment starts playback from that point.

Display and audio customization

Text can scale with your iOS Dynamic Type setting, or you can choose a larger fixed size in Settings. Choose a compatible voice installed on your iPhone or iPad. SpokenText uses Apple system voices so your selections work consistently with the rest of your device.

Keyboard and Switch Control

SpokenText is designed to support external keyboard navigation on iPad and interaction through Apple Switch Control.

Accessibility standards

Our website targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The native iOS and iPadOS app follows Apple accessibility practices and is tested with VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, external keyboard navigation, and Switch Control.
