Terms of Use

Effective July 3, 2026. The public App Store listing is not yet available. These are the proposed terms for the public release and will be confirmed before launch. If something here doesn’t make sense or seems unfair, email support@spokentext.net and ask — we’d rather explain it than hide behind it.

The app

SpokenText Reader is provided by SpokenText for use on iPhone and iPad. You may use it to import, read, and listen to your own documents and content you have the right to access. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.

Zambadu is a registered business name of 1001667332 ONTARIO INC., an Ontario corporation.

Free trial and subscription

SpokenText Reader offers a 14-day free trial with full access to the app. The final trial terms will be confirmed in App Store Connect before the public release.

After the trial, continued use is expected to require a paid subscription (planned as an annual plan, with limited-time Founders pricing for early supporters — see Pricing for planned rates). Renewal terms will be shown in the App Store before a subscription begins.

When the public release is available, Apple will handle payments through the App Store. We do not process payment-card details. App Store subscription management and refund options will be available through Apple.

Acceptable use

Use SpokenText Reader only for lawful purposes and only with content you own or have the right to access and convert to audio. Don’t attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or abuse the app or its infrastructure.

Intellectual property

SpokenText Reader — the app, its design, and its code — belongs to SpokenText. Your documents and content remain entirely yours; we claim no ownership over anything you import or create in the app.

No warranty

SpokenText Reader is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We work hard to keep it reliable and accessible, but we can’t guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, SpokenText is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
